Obituary
Robert Walter Sandage, 83, Arrowsmith died at 5:00 am Monday, September 7, 2009 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Colfax.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, September 10, 2009 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Colfax with the Rev. Dan Jassman officiating. Burial will be in Payne Cemetery, Arrowsmith.
Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 pm Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Colfax.
The family suggests memorials be given to the American Heart Association or to the American Diabetes Association.
Mr. Sandage was born June 30, 1926 in Rome, Indiana, the son of Walter L. and Nellie M. (Thomas) Sandage. He married Doris Elaine Bundy on June 30, 1949 in Colfax, IL. She survives in Arrowsmith.
Also surviving is a daughter, Janet (Robert) Harris, Sycamore, IL; two sons, Steve (Paula) Sandage and Dave (Donna) Sandage, both of Arrowsmith; nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by one sister.
Mr. Sandage was a graduate of Downs High School and a lifetime farmer in the Arrowsmith area. He enjoyed karaoke singing, camping, stock car racing and working in his shop.
