Fairbury – Roberta S. Doran, 69, of Fairbury, passed away August 3, 2009 at 10:12am at her residence.
Mass will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Fairbury with Fr. Scott Archer officiating.
Burial will be in Forrest Township Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8:00pm on Tuesday, August. 4, 2009 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury with rosary at 3:45pm.
Roberta was born August 9, 1939 in Fairbury the daughter of Peter and Stella Wojtowicz Nickrent.
She married Richard Doran on September 3, 1960 in Chatsworth. He survives.
Also surviving are her mother Stella Nickrent of Gibson City; her children, Julie (Kenny) Sinnett of Forrest, Matt (Jill McCulloh) Doran of Gibson City and Mark (Becky Ott) Doran of Gibson City; six grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Stork of Fairbury and Virginia Mattingly of Ashley.
She was preceded in death by her father and one brother Richard.
Roberta graduated top of her class from both Chatsworth High School and Mercy Hospital School of Nursing
Roberta was a member of St. Johns Catholic Church where she was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society.
She worked for 45 years in the nursing profession and was the administrator of Humiston Haven in Pontiac. She also volunteered as an EMT for SELCAS.
Her hobbies included collecting antiques, rocks, traveling and spending time with grandchildren.
