Obituary

Bloomington – Rodney H. Wallin, 72, of Bloomington, passed away at 12:56am, December 19, 2013 at Advocate BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal.

Funeral will be held at 10:00am, Saturday, December 21, 2013 at East White Oak Bible Church, Carlock. Friends may greet the family one hour prior to the services at the church on Saturday.

Burial will be held at 1:30pm, Saturday, December 21, 2013 at Wiley Cemetery, Colfax.

Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Colfax is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Berean Prison Ministries, Peoria.

Rodney was born March 12, 1941 in Minneapolis, MN, the son of Harold G. and Elsie M. Jensen Wallin. They preceded him in death.

He married Vera L. Hohulin on January 26, 1963 in Woodworth, WI.
She survives in Bloomington.

Also surviving are his children; Catherine Milroy of Bloomington, Daniel R. (Shawn) Wallin of Houston, TX, and Susan (Jim) Simmons of Bloomington; five grandchildren, Alyssa and Corinna Milroy; Shane, Mitchell, and Connor Wallin; sisters, Ruth (Charles) Hartjen of MO, Janet Wentzel of MN, and Debra Enemark of MO.

He was preceded in death by one brother, David Wallin.

Rodney was a member of East White Oak Bible Church, Carlock.

Rod and his family served as missionaries in Papau New Guinea from 1965-1975. He was a loving and honorable husband, father, and grandfather. He walked daily with God as a man of strong faith in Jesus Christ. He loved the Word of God, serving in his church and ministering to prisoners through the Berean Prison Ministry.
