Roger Lee Schumm, 61, Fairbury, died peacefully at 9:15 pm Thursday, January 27, 2022 surrounded by his family.

Roger was born July 16, 1960 in Normal, IL the son of Nyles K. and Eldora Marie Cremeens Schumm.  He married Tina Louise Young on June 11, 2011 in Saunemin.  She survives in Fairbury.

Other survivors include a son, Matthew Hedrick; three step children, Christopher Saxour, Streator, Jacob Ryan Garcia, Wilmington, Kaitlin Seghezzi, Dwight; mother, Eldora Marie Coggins, Fairbury; six grandchildren, Caroline Hedrick, Khloe and Graceland Pokarney, Jaxson Garcia, Aiden Garcia and Layla Garcia; seven siblings, Jerome (Angela) Coggins, TX,  Paula (Max) Pope, LaGrange, David Schumm, Reserve, NM, Lori (Garry) Lockwood, Pekin,  Sheila (Robert) Powers, Fairbury,  Dawn (Jon) Hurt, Pontiac, and Annette (Jon) Thompson, Bloomington.

He is preceded in death by a brother, Timothy Coggins, sister, Peggy Kerrins, his father and step father, Leslie Coggins.

Roger working as a machine operator at Caterpillar, Pontiac.  He loved fishing, hunting, dogs and camping.

Visitation will be 9:30 to 10:30 am Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury followed by his funeral service at 10:30am.  Burial will be in South Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury.  The family suggests memorials be given to the Charity of the Donor's Choice.
