Ronald Wayne Barnard, 79, Tuscola and formerly of Pontiac, died at 9:18 am Sunday, October 8, 2017 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

Visitation will be 11:00 to 12:30 pm Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury.  The family suggests memorials be given to the charity of their choice.

Mr. Barnard was born September 26, 1938 in Rockford the son of Theron Ray and Creola M. Bradshaw Barnard.  He first married Shirley Murray. She precedes him in death.  He then married Janie Siegmund on October 22, 1989 in Fairbury.  She survives in Tuscola.

Other survivors include a step daughter, Lori (Dennis) Butler, Tolono; step son, Christopher (Helen) Siegmund, Stockholm, Sweden; seven step grandchildren; five step great grandchildren; five brothers, Richard, Louis, Dale, David, and Gary Barnard and three sisters, Phyllis Bohm; Carol Tucker, and Susan Scott.

He is preceded in death by three brothers, two sisters, and a step daughter.

Mr. Barnard worked for Pontiac Chair Factory (30 years); Pinkerton Security at Caterpillar Inc., Pontiac, (20 years) and U.S. Security for Kraft Foods, Champaign.

He was an avid golfer and was a 50-year member of the Pontiac Elks Club. His favorite sport teams included the Chicago Cubs, Bears and the Fighting Illini.  He  loved animals and birds.
