Ronald D. Lage, 56, of Anchor, IL died at 2:02 p.m. Saturday, November 10, 2007 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Anchor with the Rev. Stephen Goodwin officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Anchor. Visitation will be 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Colfax.
Ron was born November 24, 1950 in Bloomington, IL, the son of Louis H. and Dorothy L. (Cline) Lage. He married Mary Ann Counsell July 27, 1974 at Darien, IL. She survives in Anchor.
Also surviving are his daughter, Julia (Clint) Harper, Champaign, a son Brent Lage, Metamora, IL and a grandson, Cole Harper, two brothers, Richard Lage, Annapolis, MD and Stephen (Linda) Lage, Weldon Spring, MO, one sister, Ellen (Steven) Kollmann, Northbrook, IL and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Ron was a 1968 graduate of Octavia High School and a 1973 graduate of Western Illinois University obtaining his Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology /Anthropology. After graduating from college he farmed in the Anchor, IL area for 30 years.
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Anchor having served as past president of the church council. He was an Anchor Twp. Trustee and had been a volunteer with the Octavia Fire Department.
Ron enjoyed spending time with family and friends. His sense of humor and integrity will be missed.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be given to the Eastern McLean County Ambulance Association or to the Gibson Area Hospital.
