Ronald E. Shoemaker, 89, of Colfax, passed away on Tuesday, February 18th, 2025, at his home in Colfax.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Colfax is in charge of arrangements.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, February 24, 2025 at the Colfax Christian Church.

There will be a visitation from 10:00 – 11:00 prior to the funeral at the church.

Ron was born on June 19, 1935, in Chicago, the son of Earl and Velma (Butler) Shoemaker. He married Ella Mae Lake on July 31, 1954. She survives in Colfax.

Ron is survived by his daughters: Judy (David) Greenlee, Jill (Darwin) Schieber, Kelli (Mark) Klinzing, and Vicki Ledbetter. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Sarah, Eric, Amy, Kelsey, Kristine, Kyle, Amber, Tanner, Alexis, and Cassie, and 19 great-grandchildren. Ron is survived by one brother, Gary (Lisa) Shoemaker.

Ron is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dale; twin-brother, Richard; and sister, Elaine.

Ron enjoyed spending his time watching the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears, and Illini Basketball.
