Captain Ronnie D. Fendrick passed into the hereafter on May 20, 2016 at 83 years of age. He was born on December 31, 1932 at his grandparents farm near Springfield, MN. He grew up on a farm in central Illinois. He joined the US Air Force in 1951 where he became a Major in the Air Force as a fighter pilot, serving two tours in the Far East. He was a captain for American Airlines from 1966 until he retired in December of 1989 at the age of 57. Retirement consisted of summers in Illinois and winters in Arizona with sight-seeing and trout fishing in his camper and golf as his primary activities.
He is survived by his wife Carole who lives in Arizona, his sons Gary and Ronald and seven grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by one daughter, Penny Peck.
A public graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Friday, May 27, 2016 at Forrest Twp. Cemetery where all are welcome. Full military rites will be accorded by the Forrest American Legion. Ronnie will be interred next to his mother Lucille Fendrick and near his sister Betty Beal.
