Obituary

Rosemary "Rosie" Munz, 87, of Fairbury died at 12:58 p.m. Tuesday, November 20, 2007 at Meadows Mennonite Home, Chenoa.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 24, 2007 at the First Presbyterian Church, Fairbury, with the Rev. Spencer Homan officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury. Visitation will be 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday also at the church. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury is in charge of arrangements.

Rosie was born December 17, 1919 in Niantic, IL the daughter of Burchard Jensen and Olive (Stahl) Bruce. She married Virgil Conrad Munz on September 22, 1941 in Lebanon, IL. He died January 2, 1998.

Surviving are several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her brother, Louie Bruce.

Rosie was a 1937 graduate of Niantic High School and attended Milliken University School of Dance in Decatur, IL. She worked as a dance instructor until graduating from high school. After graduation she attended University School of Cosmetology in Bloomington and worked as a beautician in Fairbury until WWII. During the war she moved to Decatur where she worked at the ammunition arsenal in Illiopolis until she moved to California and worked as a beautician in San Francisco until the war ended. After WWII she moved back to Fairbury and lived there until her death. While living in Fairbury she owned and operated with her husband Double M. Tap.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Fairbury and sang in the choir for over forty years. She also was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

The family suggests memorials be given to the First Presbyterian Church, Fairbury.
