Obituary
Cooksville – Russell E."Punk" Bradford, 88, of Cooksville passed away July 12, 2008 at LeRoy Manor in LeRoy.
A Funeral for Russell will be held on Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Colfax with a visitation from 12-1:00 p.m.
Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Gardens, Bloomington.
Russell was born May 29, 1920 in Colfax the son of Roy Erman and Celia Stretch Bradford. They preceded him in death.
He married Betty Duncan on November 27, 1943 in Cooksville. She survives. Also surviving are two sons, R. Norman (Bonnie) Bradford of Cross Plaines, WI and Michael (Sheila) Bradford of LeRoy; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; two sisters Alice Wyant of North Liberty, IN and Carol Hereford of Colfax; one brother Roy Lilford (Virginia) Bradford of Bloomington. Russell was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister.
Russell farmed in the Colfax and Cooksville area. He then was a mechanic for B & H Implement and last worked in maintenance for District 87.
He was a member of the United Brethren in Anchor.
The family suggests that memorials be made to the donor's choice of charity or the Community Cancer Center, Normal.
