Russell F. "Rick" Steidinger, 56 of Fairbury; passed away at 4:25 pm, Monday, November 25, 2019 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.

Cremation rites have been accorded with a graveside inurnment service at 3pm, Saturday, December 7, 2019 at Forrest Township Cemetery, Forrest.  Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family of Russell "Rick" Steidinger.

Rick was born on July 18, 1963 in Fairbury, the son of W. Gene and Alice (Nash) Steidinger.  His parents, one brother, Steve Steidinger and one son, Travis Steidinger preceded him in death.

Survivors include his children, Kevin (Jennifer) Steidinger of Forrest; Kylee Steidinger of Strawn; Sierra Steidinger of Fairbury; Sarina Steidinger of Chenoa; Jackson Steidinger of Naples, FL; Dalton Steidinger and Wyatt Steidinger both of Fairbury; one sister, Vicki (Ricky) Bane of Dana; Doug (Jeri) Steidinger of Forrest; Vernon (Kim) Steidinger of Lexington; and five grandchildren.

Rick was a 1981 graduate of Fairbury-Cropsey High School and was employed at Caterpillar Inc., Pontiac.  Rick could be found watching "Raider's" football on Sunday's or pounding on his drum set in his free time.  He was a "classic rock" nut who loved spending time with his family. His tough exterior guarded a sensitive and giving heart that will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
