Obituary

Chenoa: Ruth A. Bauman, 90 a lifetime resident of Chenoa, died at 12:53 am, Friday, July 27, 2007 at Meadows Mennonite Retirement Community, rural Chenoa.

Her funeral service will be 11 am, Monday, July 30, 2007 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Chenoa with Pastor Edward Hudelson officiating. Interment will take place in Chenoa Cemetery, Chenoa, IL.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 pm, Sunday, July 29, 2007 at the Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa and one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.

Mrs. Bauman was born August 3, 1916 in Pontiac, the only child of Orville H. and Hettie (Arnold) Boyd. She married Emmett F. Bauman March 2, 1949 in Chenoa. He passed away May 17, 1989.

Surviving are one daughter Kaye L. (Paul) Conrad, Pilot Grove, IA, one son; Frederick B. Bauman, Chenoa, one step-daughter; Mary Ellen (Donald C.) Sullivan, Odell, five grandchildren, six step grandchildren, eleven step great grandchildren and three step great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one step granddaughter.

The family suggests that memorials be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church, Chenoa or Meadows Mennonite Retirement Community, Chenoa.

Ruth had many interesting jobs. Before raising her family on the rural Chenoa farm she spent time working as a General Telephone Operator, store clerk and an assistant to an osteopathic surgeon. Earlier Mrs. Bauman was a member of the Eastern Star. For many years Ruth was a very active member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church of Chenoa before residing at Meadows Mennonite Retirement Community.

She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed.
