Obituary
Ruth H. Bittner, 80 of Fairbury passed away at 6:25am, Friday, April 22, 2011 at Heartland Health Care in Normal.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30am on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Fairbury with Pastor Tom Krieger officiating. Burial will be in South Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00pm on Monday, April 25, 2011 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury and one hour prior to service on Tuesday at the church.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church Kitchen Fund or to the charity of the donor's choice.
Ruth was born March 1, 1931 in Fairbury the daughter of Robert and Helen Burmeister Miller. She married Merle W. Bittner on March 20, 1949 in Chenoa, IL. He survives in Fairbury.
Also surviving are two sons, Terry Lee (Sue) Bittner of Towanda and Robert Samuel (Kathy) Bittner of Fairbury; four grandsons, Scott Bittner, Brenton Bittner, Patrick Bittner, Douglas Bittner; two granddaughters, Lori Warfel, and Sara Tredennick; nine great grandchildren and one brother, Herb (Joy) Miller, Fairbury.
She is preceded in death by a son, Dale E. Bittner.
Ruth was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Fairbury and had been employed at Bluestem National Bank, Fairbury for 27 years.
