Obituary
Ruth F. Broquard, 76, Fairbury, died at 11:30 pm Monday, May 25, 2015 at Fairview Haven Retirement Community, Fairbury.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 am Friday, May 29, 2015 at the 1st United Methodist Church, Fairbury with Pastor George Russell officiating. Burial will be in the South Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury.
Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday, May 28, 2015 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury and 9:30 to 10:15 am Friday at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Fairview Haven Retirement Community, Fairbury or the charity of the donor's choice.
Ruth was born December 31, 1938 in Fairbury, IL the daughter of Jacob and Florence Hieronymus Helmers. She married Kenneth E. Broquard on January 18, 1958 in Cropsey, IL. He survives in Fairbury.
Other survivors include 2 sons, David (Kathy) Broquard, Sunnyvale, CA, Robert (Linda) Broquard, Fairbury, 1 daughter, Susan (Jeff) Lorentson, Fishers, IN, 7 grandchildren, Andy (Tisha Shaffer) Broquard, Matt Broquard, Molly (Mike) Mellott, Melissa Broquard, Jennifer Broquard, Katie Lorentson, Kari Lorentson, 1 great grandson, Luke Mellott, 2 sisters, Jane (Marvin) Bahler, Fairbury, Lois (Carl) Lemna, North Manchester, IN and 1 brother, Bill (Darlene) Helmers, Cropsey.
She is preceded in death by 1 brother, James Helmers.
Ruth was a 1956 graduate of Fairbury-Cropsey High School. She was a member of the 1st United Methodist Church, Fairbury, Indian Creek Golf Course and belonged to several bridge clubs in the community.
