Ruth Ann Luttrell, 79, of Fairbury, passed away on Monday, May 13th, 2024 at OSF St. James-John W. Albrecht Medical Center in Pontiac. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury is in-charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 – 11:00 am on Friday, May 17th, 2024, at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury. A private funeral service will follow.

Memorial contributions may be made in Ruth's name to SELCAS (South East Livingston County Ambulance Service) or to the American Heart Association.

Ruth was born in Fairbury on January 20th, 1945, the daughter of Roy and Aldine (Nagel) Hakes. She married Cuthfurd Whittle on June 16th, 1967 in Bloomington. He preceded her in death in 1998. She later married John Luttrell on January 23, 2009. John preceded her in death on May 8th, 2022.

Ruth is survived by her siblings: Richard Hakes, of Fairbury, and Larry Hakes, of Normal. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Pauline Knight, and two nephews, Miles & Kenny Johnson.

Ruth loved to spend time with her family. When they were apart, she would frequently call on the phone to keep in touch. When they were together, she made sure that everyone was well fed. Ruth will be dearly missed by her friends and family.
