Sandra L. Hardesty, 70, a resident of Evenglow Lodge, Pontiac and formerly of Forrest died at 12:03 am Sunday, August 7, 2011 at Evenglow Lodge.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 pm Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at the United Methodist Church, Forrest. Burial will be in Forrest Twp. Cemetery, Forrest. Visitation will be from 1:30 to 2:30pm Wednesday also at the church. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury is in charge of arrangements. The family suggests memorials be given to the Parkinson's Foundation; OSF St. James Hospice; or to Evenglow Lodge, Pontiac.
Mrs. Hardesty was born April 23, 1941 in Canton, IL the daughter of Alvin and Helen Davison Oyer. She married Harvey Hardesty Jr. on August 25, 1957 at the United Methodist Church, Forrest. He survives in Pontiac, IL.
Also surviving is one daughter, Karen (Keith Chambers) Stephens, Forrest; two sons, Rick (Robin) Hardesty, Forrest, Dan Hardesty, Wildwood, MO; five grandchildren, Mark Stephens, Kacie Hardesty, Alex, Jake and Aubree Hardesty.
She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother.
Mrs. Hardesty attended Fairbury-Cropsey High School, worked as a beautician at the Primp Shop, Forrest and was a Tupperware manager. She also was a member of the United Methodist Church, Forrest.
