Fairbury – Sharon Ann Steinhorst, 58, of Fairbury formerly of Poplar Grove, passed away at 6:20 am on Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at her residence.

Cremation has been accorded.

A Memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, August 19, 2011 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury.

Friends may greet the family from 1:00-2:00pm also on Friday before the service.

Memorials may be made to OSF Hospice or American Cancer Society.

Sharon was born March 29, 1953 in Fairbury the daughter of Ralph and Arlene Metz Morrison. They preceded her in death.

She married Stacy Steinhorst on December 6, 1980 in Belvidere. He survives.

Also surviving are one daughter Sarah Steinhorst of Joliet; one sister, Lynn Rahn of St. Petersburg, FL; two brothers, Lyle (Margaret) Morrison of Monticello and Wayne Morrison of Piper City; and several nieces and nephews.

Sharon graduated from Piper City High School in 1971. She then went to work for GTE and retired from there in 1992. After she retired she became a representative for Market Day for 10 years; and she last worked for Edwards Apple Orchard in Poplar Grove.

Sharon was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Piper City.

She loved volunteering and did so in many areas at Manchester Elementary School in Poplar Grove.
Sharon enjoyed traveling with her friends on their yearly adventures.

She enjoyed reading and was an avid Cubs fan.
