Saybrook – Sharon Ann VanNote, 63, of Saybrook, passed away at 6:45 am, Sunday, September 12, 2021 at her residence in Saybrook.

Cremation rites have been accorded with private family services to be held at a later date. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Colfax is in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions in her name may be directed to Ruby's Rescue & Retreat in McLean.

Sharon was born April 22, 1958, in Blue Island, IL; the daughter of William and Delores (Kadlup) Schaffer. She married Stanley VanNote on May 14, 1978 in Melvin. Her husband, Stanley survives in Saybrook.

Her parents, and one brother, Shawn Schaffer preceded her in death.

Other survivors include, one son, Michael (Ashley) VanNote and one daughter, Jennifer Kelly both of Gibson City; five grandchildren, Kaidence, Elijah, Emma, Rilynn and Joshua; four brothers, Bruce Schaffer of Cooksville; Kevin Schaffer of Fairbury; Keith Schaffer of Forrest; and Terry Schaffer of Fairbury; two sisters, Shirley Lawrence and Colleen McKay both of Fairbury.

Sharon was an active member of Gibson City Bible Church, Gibson City. She was a private woman who loved her family, always putting their needs before her own. She was the definition of love and we all felt it every time we were near her and even when we weren't. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
