Obituary
Fairbury: Sheila Lorraine Verhaege, 83, Fairbury and formerly of Marysville, CA died 11:55 pm Thursday, September 21, 2006 at Gibson Area Hospital Annex, Gibson City, IL.
Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00pm Monday, September 25, 2006 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury. Burial will be at Burrwood Cemetery, Escalon, CA.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 am Saturday, October 7, 2006 at the First Baptist Church, Fairbury with the Rev. Steven Anderson officiating.
Mrs. Verhaege was born December 19, 1922 at Covina, CA the daughter of Martin and Edna McLendon Jones. She married Roger Morris Verhaege April 25, 1943 at Escalon, CA. He died September 11, 2004.
Surviving are 2 daughters, Arlene Plant, Gig Harbor, WA and Ruth M. (Bob) Van Houten, Fair Oaks, CA. 1 granddaughter, Angela (Bob) Retter, Fairbury, 1 sister, June Hammond, Colorado, 1 brother, Sam Jones, California and 4 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by 1 brother, 1 sister and 1 granddaughter.
Mrs. Verhaege had been employed as a bookkeeper for many years and had attended the 1st Baptist Church of Fairbury.
The family suggests memorials be given to the 1st Baptist Church Building Fund, Fairbury or to the Charity of the Donor's Choice.
