Shirley B. Hulse, 90. Fairbury, died at 5:39 pm Friday, April 4, 2025 at Fairview Haven Retirement Community, Fairbury.

Her memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, April 12, 2025 at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Fairbury with Pastor Nathan Feig officiating.  Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury.

Visitation will be 10:00 to 10:45 am Saturday also at the church.  The family suggests memorials be given to Dominy Memorial Library or the Trinity Lutheran Church, both in Fairbury.  Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury is assisting with arrangements.

Shirley was born July 21, 1934 in Newman, IL the daughter of Maurice L. and Maude B. Busick McDermott.  She married Virgil H. Hulse on April 10, 1955 in Newman, IL.  He preceded her in death on June 24, 2018.

Surviving are her children, Deborah (Norm) Lopez, Linda (George) Guminski, both of Normal, IL, David (Donna Hustedt) Hulse, Paxton, IL, five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by a grandson, Eric Lopez, two brothers and an infant sister.

Shirley attended Illinois Business College, Champaign where she met her future husband, Virgil. Shirley was a homemaker and worked in bookkeeping at various offices in Fairbury, completing her career at the Walton Department Store.  She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Fairbury.
