Colfax – Shirley Marie Schuler, 76, of Colfax, passed away at 12:45pm, Friday, February 7, 2014 at her residence.
Funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday,
February 11, 2014 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Colfax.
Burial will be in the Church cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4-7:00pm, Monday, February 10, 2014 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Colfax and one hour prior to services on Tuesday at the church.
Memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Colfax, Eastern McLean County Ambulance Association or Octavia Fire Protection District.
Shirley was born November 29, 1937 in Chenoa the daughter of Evart and Elverta Gerbracht Taylor.
She married Loren Schuler on February 16, 1958 in Chenoa. He survives.
Also surviving are her mother Elverta Taylor of Chenoa; children, Robin (Ed) Schuldt of Cissna Park, Randy Schuler of AZ, Terri Schuler of Haven, KS, and Tiffany (Doug) Grunloh of Lexington; grandchildren, Stacy and Mark Schuldt, Jules, Michael, Meredith, and Jaclyn Grunloh; siblings, Barbara (Ron) Mehrkens of Henry, Connie (Gary) Leake of Lexington, and Darvin (Mary) Taylor of Hoopston.
Shirley enjoyed farming with her husband for more than 50 years.
She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and ELCWA and volunteered with meals on wheels.
She enjoyed her women's Bridge Club and the couples Card Club Shirley and Loren belonged.
Shirley was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed being a big part of her grandchildren's lives and all of their activities.
