Colfax – Stella W. Hoffman 98, of Colfax, formerly of Anchor and Bloomington, passed away at 11:07am, June 27, 2013, at Asta Care Center of Colfax.

Funeral will be held at 11:00am, Monday, July 1, 2013, at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Colfax. The Reverend Stephen Goodwin will be officiating. Burial will be in Wiley Cemetery, Colfax.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to services on Monday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, Anchor or donor's choice of charity.

Stella was born November 5, 1914 in Brookston, IN the daughter of Otto and Emma Schmidt Wichmann.

She married George U. Hoffman on January 20, 1935. He died in 1972.

Surviving are one son; J.G. (Marla) Hoffman of Colfax; two grandsons; Kirk (Angela) Hoffman of Springfield, KY and Chad (Janelle) Hoffman of Colfax; great-grandchildren; Morgan, Cale, Brec, and Zane Hoffman; step-great-grandchildren; A.J. (Danni) Hutson, Amanda (Thomas) Talbot, and Lucy (Neil) Payne; step-great-great grandchildren, Emma Payne and Anthony Hutson. Stella loved all of her family members, including many wonderful cousins she enjoyed seeing as often as possible.

One son, Charles R. Hoffman and one brother, Delmar Wichmann and one sister-in-law, Mary Jane Wichmann preceded her in death.

Stella was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Anchor. She was a librarian for many years at Martin Township Library.

Stella worked with her husband on the Charles and Ida Hoffman farm south of Anchor where they farmed and raised chickens and turkeys. They then owned and operated Wichmann Hardware in Colfax.

Stella was a true matriarch of the Hoffman family blessing us with her love for 98 years.
