Fairbury – Stephen Louis Drach, 61, of Fairbury, passed away at 5:05AM Thursday, January 24, 2008 at his home after a brave battle with cancer.
Visitation for Stephen will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2008 from 4-7:00PM at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury.
Funeral will be held on Sunday, January 27, 2008 at 1:00PM at Trinity Lutheran Church, Fairbury with visitation from 12-12:45PM.
Pastor Tom Krieger will be officiating.
Burial will be in Apostolic Christian Cemetery, Fairbury where Military Honors will be conducted by the Fairbury V.F.W. Post #9789 and the John Joda American Legion Post #45, Fairbury.
Stephen was born September 21, 1946 in Fairbury the son of Richard and Evelyn Zimmerman Drach. He was preceded in death by his parents Richard Drach and Evelyn Rigsby.
He married Carol Ruhlander on May 1, 1970 in Fairbury. She survives. Also surviving are three sons, David (Maureen) of Fairbury, Bobby (Cheryl) of Bloomington, and Brad (Carrie) of Harvard and five granddaughters, Megan, Kayla, Courtney, Ashlyn, and Hailey.
Stephen graduated from Fairbury Cropsey High School. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He joined the Air Force in 1964 and served in Vietnam from 1966-1967.
He was employed by Eppel Construction as a heavy equipment operator for many years.
Stephen was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Fairbury, Local 150 Midwest Operation Engineer and the Fairbury V.F. W. Post #9789.
The Family suggests that memorials may be made to Fairbury VFW or Community Cancer Center, Normal.
