Obituary

Stephen R. Macom, 61, of Chenoa passed away at 5:39 pm, Monday, July 13, 2009 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.

His funeral service will be 10:30 am, Friday, July 17, 2009 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa with Pastor David Heath officiating. Burial will take place in Chenoa Cemetery, Chenoa with full military rites conducted by the Chenoa VFW post #8350. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 pm Thursday, July 16, 2009 also at the memorial home in Chenoa.

Steve was born April 26, 1948 in Poplar Bluff, MO, the son of Gerald and Erma (Repetto) Macom. He married JoAnn Howell on September 7, 1973 in Chenoa. She passed away on November 20, 2000. He later married Robin Roberts on July 1, 2006 in Chenoa. She survives in Chenoa.

Other survivors include; his mother; Erma Macom, Lane, KS, two daughters; Mary Macom and Amy (Bill) Thurston, both of Pontiac, five step-children; Renee Lydigsen, J'ne Brown, both of Pontiac, Jacob Ratliff, Chenoa, Darrell Ratliff, Gaffaney, SC, Randell Ratliff, Chenoa, nine brothers and sisters; Shelia (John) Maubach, Gridley, Shirley (Bob) McDaniels, Ottawa, KS, Kay Hall, Osawatomie, KS, Paula Woomer, Euless, TX, Bobbie (Mark) Thompson, Centralia, IL, Barbara (John) Rogers, KS, David Macom, Lane, KS, Melissa Macom, Osawatomie, KS, Scott (Stacy) Macom, Lane, KS, and eight grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to The Family of Stephen R. Macom.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Steve served in Korea in the US Army from 1968 – 1970. He was a loving man who enjoyed riding motorcycles, fishing and camping but most of all he loved spending time with his family, children and grandchildren.
