Obituary

Stephen Dean Moser, 59, of Monclova, OH formerly of Fairbury passed away suddenly on Sunday evening, February 12, 2012 at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo, OH.

Family and friends will be received at Peinert Funeral Homes, Whitehouse Chapel on Thursday, February 16th from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held at Cedar Creek Church, Whitehouse Campus, on Friday, February 17th at 10:00 a.m. Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider Toledo Area Metroparks, Buckeye Border Fellowship of Christian Athletes (www.bbfca.org), or Toledo Area Humane Society.

Steve was the oldest of 5 sons born to Dean and Lucille (Monroe) Moser on April 4, 1952 in Fairbury, IL. He graduated from Fairbury-Cropsey High School in 1970 where he met his high school sweetheart, Mary Marsch. They were married on August 26, 1972 and lived in Fairbury where Steve worked at Pittsburgh International as a sales manager. In 1985 he transferred to Beta Tube in Holland, OH and continued working as sales manager until 1989. He then became the Midwest sales manager for Rusco Enterprises/Freight Logistics.

Steve had a passion for and extensive knowledge of sports, whether watching them or debating their outcome with friends and family. He was a devoted and enthusiastic fan of the Chicago Bears, Chicago Bulls, Chicago Cubs and the University of Illinois Fighting Illini. But his greatest love was watching his children and grandchildren's sporting events. He never missed a game or competition and his presence will be greatly missed behind the backstop and on the sidelines.

Steve is survived by his wife, Mary, and children Jason (Melanie) Moser, Delta, OH and Melissa Moser, Orlando, FL; grandchildren CJ, Alivia, & Reid Moser, Delta, OH; parents Dean and Lucille Moser, Fairbury, IL; brothers Jim (Mary Ann) Moser, Zelienople, PA, Gary (Sheri) Moser, Fairbury, IL, Mark (Glenda) Moser, Morton Grove, IL, and Dave (Sheila) Moser, Hinsdale, IL; brother-in-law Mike (Kathy) Marsch, Jefferson, WI; sister-in-law Lisa Kessinger, Fairbury, IL; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Silas and Lucille Moser and Robert and Mabel Monroe, and in-laws Donald Marsch and Donna Prescott.
