Obituary
Syble R. Leffingwell, 91, Chenoa passed away at 5:50 am Sunday, February 28, 2010 at Meadows Mennonite Home, Chenoa.
Funeral services will be at noon, Thursday, March 4, 2010 the United Methodist Church, Chenoa with the Rev. Robb McCoy officiating. Burial will be in Chenoa Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am to noon on Thursday at the church. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa is in charge of arrangements. The family suggests memorials be given to the United Methodist Church, Chenoa.
Mrs. Leffingwell was born December 10, 1918 in Makanda, IL, the daughter of Edward and Minnie Kate Wright Purdy. She married Oran B. Leffingwell on September 20, 1941 in Allendale, IL. He died on February 18, 2005.
Surviving are three grandchildren: Julie (David) Willoughby, Washington, IL, Scott (Dee) Ruhlander, Fairbury, IL, Becky (Dwayne) Krager, Girard, IL; nine great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her daughter, Ruth Ann Schlipf, five brothers and two sisters.
Mrs. Leffingwell was a graduate of Allendale High School. She was a homemaker and managed the Honegger House Café for many years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Chenoa and the woman's society of the church. She also volunteered at Meadows Mennonite Home for many years.
