Thelma "Marie" Banks (Andreae)

Oct. 9, 1946  – July 5, 2024, Age 77

Heaven help the angels, here comes Marie!  If you didn't meet Marie, you missed someone very special.  She was an amazing woman who embrace each day with a zest for life.  She was a self-taught world-class tailor, loving grandma, cheerful friend and the world's best Mom.

Born to Marvin Andreae & Geraldine Osborne in Fairbury, IL, Marie had enough love for 2 siblings, 4 husbands, 2 biological children, 13 step-children, numerous grandchildren and countless friends.  She fought cancer for 17 years and bravely left on her new adventure at home in Tuscola, IL, surrounded by family and friends on July 5th.  She was a member of the Andreae, Banks, Johnson & Niepoetter families.

She was known for her extraordinary sewing / alteration skills, and a beloved employee at Ducky's Bridal in Champaign, IL, Steinmart in Sandy, UT and ZCMI in Salt Lake City, UT.

Donnie & Marie served in the Birmingham Alabama LDS Mission in 1998-2000.  She was preceded in death by her husband Don L. Banks of Murray, UT and her son, Larry D. Johnson of LeRoy, IL and survived by her son, John M. Johnson of West Jordan, UT.

A Celebrations of life will be at noon, Saturday, September 21, 2024 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Anchor, IL.  Burial will follow next to her parents at the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church cemetery in Anchor, IL.  Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Colfax is assisting with the local arrangements.
