Warr Acres, OK - Thelma V. Bolden, 88, of Warr Acres, OK; formerly of rural Fairbury died at 2:50 a.m. Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at Warr Acres Nursing Home in Oklahoma City, OK.

Mrs. Bolden was born June 4, 1934, in Ripley, TN, the daughter of Bennett and Nannie (Crowder) Thurmond. She married Lynn Bolden on November 28, 1953 in Hernando, MS. Her husband preceded her in death on November 21, 2007.

Her parents, one daughter, Nancy Gernentz, one great-granddaughter, two brothers and two sisters also preceded her in death.

Survivors include three daughters, Shirl (Billy) Barnes, Chenoa, Dianne (George) Smith, Missouri; Virginia (Robert) Compton-Wade, Oklahoma; one son Lynnard Bolden, Chenoa; one honorary son Phillip King, Cullom; one brother, Ernie Thurmond, Steger; two sisters, June Christman, Wisconsin; Shirley Smith, Florida; eight grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren.

Cremation rites have been accorded with a private family service to be scheduled at a later date. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa is in charge of arrangements.
