Thelma L. Huddleston, 95, of Fairbury passed away at 11:58 am, Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal.
Her funeral service will be 10:30 am, Saturday, July 25, 2009 at the First Baptist Church of Fairbury with Pastor Steve Anderson officiating. Interment will follow in Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm, Friday, July 24, 2009 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury and one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
Thelma was born November 12, 1913 in Monroe County, KY the daughter of John and Chloe (Strode) Hodges. She married Arnold K. Huddleston on December 15, 1934 in Pontiac. He passed away January 26, 2003.
Survivors include; one daughter; Carol (Frank) Vaughan, Fairbury, two sons; Gerald (Sidney Kathleen) Huddleston, Fairbury, Ronald (Kara Beth) Huddleston, Thomaston, GA, two sisters; Opal Stame, Naperville, Joyce (Harold) Butler, Fairbury, ten grandchildren, twenty two great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, one brother, two infant sons and one grandchild.
The family suggests that memorials be directed to First Baptist Church of Fairbury.
Thelma was Valedictorian of the 1932 graduating class of Fairbury Twp. High School and was a life-long member of the First Baptist Church of Fairbury. She was the model of a Christian woman, full of faith and love always giving of herself to those she came in contact with. She enjoyed quilting and being surrounded by her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
