Thelma Maier, 95, formerly of Forrest, passed away on Monday, January 20, 2025 at Fairview Haven Retirement Community, Fairbury.

She was born March 13, 1929 the daughter of Sam and Lydia Sohn Maier.

She graduated from Forrest Twp. High School in 1946 and then worked in the school office until 1985.  She served as an election judge for many years and did volunteer work.

Survivors include, two nieces and one nephew, Carla (Curtis) Stoller, Gridley, Sally (Larry) Bemount, Paxton, and Marcus (Patty) Maier, Forrest.

She is preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Marjorie and Leland Kuntz, brother and sister-in-law, Vernon and Beth Maier, niece, Betsy Maier and nephew, Kevin Kuntz.

Her funeral will be held at 10:30 am Friday, January 24, 2025 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury.  Followed by a private burial in the South Apostolic Christian Cemetery, Fairbury.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
