Fairbury – Theresa Jean Reid, 59, of Fairbury, passed away at 7:56 am, May 21, 2025, at her residence.

Her funeral will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury. Pastor Brian King will be officiating.

Burial will be in Avoca Township Cemetery, Fairbury.

Visitation will be held from 5-7:00 pm, Tuesday, May 27, 2025, also at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Illinois Cancer Care Foundation or St. Jude Children's Hospital.

Theresa was born March 6, 1966, in Woodstock, the daughter of Charles Bert and Margaret Deleon Reid.

Surviving are her life partner of 38 years, Doug Tollensdorf of Fairbury; twin brother, Don (Angie) Reid of Kempton and three sisters, Jackie Gerber of Fairbury, Judy Gossich of Tomahawk, WI and Jean (Keith) Ferre of Decatur.

She was preceded in death by her parents one brother and five sisters.

Theresa was a secretary at Whitman Veterinary in Piper City for 27 years. She also owned and operated DRT Quarter Horse along with Doug for 35 years, where they boarded, trained, and bred horses. Theresa had a true love of animals. She taught many kids how to ride and care for horses.

The family would like to thank Illinois Cancer Care and OSF Hospice for the love and care given to Theresa.
