Chenoa – Thomas Ronald Gentes, 71, of Chenoa, passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.

Cremation rites have been accorded and a private family service will be held at a later date. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home Chenoa is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Gentes was born August 26, 1953 in Bloomington; a son to Ronald and Barbara (Fogle) Gentes.  His parents preceded him in death.

Survivors include two sisters, Janet Gentes of Laurinburg, NC; Gail Gentes of Prescott, AZ; a niece, Katie Trier Holland, a nephew, Matthew Trier and cousins, Doug Gentes, John Gentes, Marie Mietzner, Becky Mietzner, and Kris Mietzner.

Tom graduated from Chenoa High School in 1971. He worked as a mechanic, truck driver, and farmer. He worked as a heavy equipment operator at Livingston Stone for 23 years.

He enjoyed interacting with friends and neighbors in the community, especially farmers in Pike Township. He had an avid interest in model trains and railroading.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions are directed to Livingston County Food Bank or a charity of the donor's choice.
