Obituary
Verna Mae Winterland, 80 of Fairbury passed away at 5:30 am, Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at Asta Care Center, Pontiac.
Funeral services will be 11 am, Friday, August 20, 2010 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury with Pastor Tom Krieger officiating. Burial will take place in Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury. Visitation will be one hour prior to her services on Friday also at the memorial home in Fairbury.
Verna was born May 21, 1930 in Pontiac the daughter of William and Louise (Sebert) Bromley. She married Lyle E. Winterland on August 10, 1947 in Chenoa. He preceded her in death on January 20, 2005.
Survivors include one son; James (Ruth) Winterland, Fairbury, two grandsons; Lance (Patsy) Winterland, Lemont, IL, Jason Winterland, Fairbury, three great grandchildren; Emily, Annette and Lyle Winterland of Lemont.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and one brother.
The family suggests that memorials be directed Trinity Lutheran Church, Fairbury or Asta Care Center, Pontiac.
Verna retired from Fairbury Hospital in 1992. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Fairbury and Fairbury American Legion – VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
