Fairbury – Vicky L. Sorey-Moore, 80, of Fairbury formerly of Chatsworth, passed away at 10:31 am, March 11, 2026, at Fairview Haven Retirement Community, Fairbury.
Her funeral will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, March 14, 2026, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Chatsworth. Burial will be in Chatsworth Township Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 10-11:00am, on Saturday also at the church.
Memorials may be made to the Chatsworth American Legion, Chatsworth.
Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury is in charge of arrangements.
Vicky was born July 2, 1945, in Fairbury, the daughter of Henry and Clydie (West) Tornowski.
She first married Charles Clemith Sorey on August 19, 1961. He died 1993. She later married Lyman Max Moore on December 2, 1995. He died July 21, 2019.
Surviving are his son Gene (Robin) Sorey of Rice Lake, WI; grandsons, Gavin Sorey of San Diego, CA and Garin Sorey of Rice Lake, WI; brother Donald Tornowski of AZ; several nieces and nephews; step-children, Leanne Moore of Tampa, FL and Steve (Tammy) Moore of AL; six step-grandchildren and five step- great-grandchildren.
Vicky was preceded in death by her parents.
She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Chatsworth, where she served on church council, was the Sunday school secretary, served on parish education, and was the chair of music and worship for many years. She was also a member of WELCA. Vicky was a former member of Chatsworth business Association and the Chatsworth American Legion Auxiliary #613.
Vicky worked at Henald’s in Piper City for 10 years, Home Shield for one year and then started Vicky’s Hair Quarters where she did hair for 44 years.
Vicky loved her Weekly Gatherings and enjoyed playing cards with her “Buddies”.
