Victoria Lee (King) Ballenger, 62, passed away at 2:03 pm Monday, September 22, 2014 at her home in Bloomington with family and friends by her side.
She was born January 16, 1952 at the Fairbury hospital to Harlan and Bonny (Adams) King. She graduated from Chenoa High School and went on to be a homemaker. She married Danny Heath and they have one son, Jeff. On June 18, 2005 she married Keith Ballenger at Mr. Pleasant Methodist Church in Russell Springs, KY with family and friends present. He survives in Bloomington.
Also surviving is a son, Jeff (Darla) Heath, Shawnee, KS, a sister, Jeanne Hunt, Grants Pass, Oregon, one great granddaughter, Bella Binkley, Gridley, IL, two nieces, Jennifer and Andi King, Chenoa, IL, three nephews, Dallas (Angela) Brown, Central Point, Oregon, Dustin Brown, Central Point, Oregon, Kevin (Steph) King, Gridley, IL, three great nephews, Zach Herr, Karson and Barrett King, all of Gridley, IL; a step son, Dan (Misty) Ballenger, Wetmore, KS, a step daughter, Jennifer Ring, Topeka, KS, four grandsons, Josh, Chad, Robert and Alex Ballenger, all of Wetmore, KS, two adopted grandsons, Isaiah Ballenger and Buddy Hosford, both of Kansas.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.
Victoria's fight against triple negative breast cancer started in March of 2011. It has been a long and hard battle not knowing the outcome of each of the treatments over the last several years.
Victoria was a member of the Chenoa VFW Ladies Auxiliary for 10 plus years. She was a homemaker who dearly loved her family and friends. She loved to garden, with each new spring she planted flowers and vegetables. She enjoyed traveling on day excursions, was an avid reader, creative crafter who loved to sew and crochet doing this with the new found joy of her two small dogs Toby and Munchkin at her side.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30am Friday, September 26, 2014 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa with Pastor Ellen Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Chenoa Cemetery, Chenoa.
Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 pm Thursday, September 25, 2014 and 9:30 to 10:15am Friday also at the memorial home. In lieu of flowers, please make memorials to: For medical/research with adult stem cell research through StemGenex of Southern California.
