Obituary
Fairbury – Viola R. Metz, 87, of Fairbury, passed away at 1:09pm, October 13, 2013 at Fairview Haven Retirement Community, Fairbury.
Funeral will be held at 10:00am, Thursday, October 17, 2013 at Apostolic Christian Church, Forrest. Ministers of the church will be officiating.
Burial will be in North Apostolic Christian Cemetery, rural Forrest.
Visitation will be held from 4-7:00pm, Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury and 9-9:45am on Thursday at the church.
Memorials may be made to Fairview Haven Retirement Community, Fairbury.
Viola was born July 21, 1926 in Elgin the daughter of John and Emma Schmidgall Moser. She married Christian Metz on August 5, 1962 in Elgin. He survives.
Also surviving are two brothers, Gene (Libbie Ann) Moser of Elgin and Lester (Deloras) Moser of Scottsdale, AZ; two sisters, Lois Schock of Sycamore and Wilma (Jerry) Kieser of Wyoming; sister-in-law, Jeannette Moser.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Earl Moser and Harold Moser; four sisters, Lucille Smith, Bernice Martin, Marie Feucht and infant, Donna Mae; four brothers-in-law and one sister –in-law.
She was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church, Forrest.
Viola was a housewife and homemaker all her married life.
She loved and was loved by her many nieces and nephews, who will greatly miss her.
