Strawn – Virgil K. Sinnett, 77, of Strawn passed away October 19, 2009 at 11:13pm at his residence.
Cremation has been accorded. Friends may greet the family from 5-6:45pm on Thursday, October 22, 2009 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury.
A memorial service will held at 7:00pm also on Thursday at the funeral home.
Virgil was born January 18, 1932 in Brandenburg, KY the son of Oatha and Katie Mae Chism Sinnett. They preceded him in death.
He married Patricia Liming on May 2, 1953 in Forrest. She survives.
Also surviving are his children, Kenny (Julie) Sinnett of Forrest, Theresa (Clarence) Kemnetz of Gill, CO, Bob (Pam) Sinnett of Lexington and Brenda (Leon) Henry of Elliott; grandchildren, Casey Stanley, Jake Kemnetz, Kellsi Leuhmann, Lindsey Rhea, and Trevor and Paige Sinnett; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Emily Jupin of Forrest and his beloved friend Shadow.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill and Arthur Sinnett and two sisters Carrie Ruth Hardesty and Eula Mae Bowen.
Virgil was a veteran of the United States Army where he was a medic.
He was a cross country truck driver for almost 50 years with 38 of them with PDR Trucking.
He loved the outdoors. His grandchildren were a big part of his life and his pride and joy.
Virgil had a big heart and everyone who knew him loved him.
The family suggests that memorials may be made to Strawn Fire Department or SELCAS.
