Virginia M. George, 90, Fairbury, died at 8:09 pm Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at Good Samaritan Home, Pontiac.

Mrs. George was born June 30, 1927 in Shenandoah, IA the daughter of Russell R. and Sarah Ellen Shoemaker Porter.  She married Darrell D. George on February 10, 1946 in Shenandoah, IA he died on October 25, 1999.

Survivors include two daughters, Janice Marie (David) Novak, Beaverton, OR, Susan Kay (Jerry) Rork, Pontiac, IL, three grandchildren, Wendy (David) Butkovich, Shane Novak, and Beth Winterland, one sister, Carolyn Howland, Ogden, UT.

She is preceded in death by one son, one infant sister, one infant brother and two infant grandchildren.

Mrs. George was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Fairbury and the United Methodist Women.  She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star of Iowa.

Visitation will be 1:00 to 1:45 pm Sunday, June 10, 2018 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury followed by her funeral at 2:00pm.  Burial will be 10:00 am Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at Elmwood Cemetery, Coin, IA.  The family suggests memorials be given to the Pontiac, IL Public Library or the First United Methodist Church, Fairbury.
