Obituary
Normal – Virginia R. Hyatt, 80 of Normal formerly of Colfax, passed away September 11, 2008 at 6:32 a.m. at her residence.
Funeral will be held on Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Colfax with the Rev. Dan Jassman officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in Wiley Cemetery, Colfax.
Virginia was born May 16, 1928 in Polley, WI the daughter of Otto and Sadie Weidmann Umland. They preceded her in death. She married Marvin Dean Hyatt on June 25, 1949 in Colfax. He died December 23, 2001.
Surviving are one granddaughter, Amanda JoAnn (Daniel) Plaizier of AZ; one great-granddaughter, Liberty Kathleen Plaizier of AZ; one sister Arbutus Shirley Monahan of Bloomington; one sister-in-law, Gertrude Chammings of Colfax and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one son Stacey J. Hyatt and one brother Virgil Dean Umland.
Virginia graduated from Colfax High School in 1948 and then graduated from Summers Beautician School. She was a beautician for over 51 years. She owned her own beauty shop in Colfax and worked at several beauty salons in Bloomington.
She was a member of the VFW Auxilliary, Pontiac Post #886 and the Women of the American Legion.
The family suggests that memorials may be made to American Heart Association or American Legion, Colfax.
