Virginia Torrez, 68, a resident of Accolade Healthcare of Pontiac and formerly of Fairbury, died at 8:02 am Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at Accolade Healthcare of Pontiac.

Ms. Torrez was born May 28, 1953 in Crystal City, TX the daughter of Felix and Teresa Ramirez Salinas.

Survivors include her children, Harvey (Mandy- fiancé) Ruiz, Pontiac, Richard Ruiz, Forrest, Gina (Jason) Maurer, Fairbury and Alicia Delossantos, Normal; eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren; siblings, Rudy Madrid, Grand Prairie, TX, Alicia Saucedo, Pontiac, Felix Salinas, Pontiac, Felicia Sisco, Fairbury and Paul Salinas, Pontiac.

She is preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister.

Ms. Torrez worked as a housekeeper.

Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 pm Friday, December 17, 2021 and 10:00 to 10:45 am Saturday at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury.  Her funeral will follow at 11:00 am Saturday also at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury with Pastor Daryl Evans officiating.  Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury.  The family suggests memorials be given to the charity of their choice.

Virginia was a very lively and happy woman.  Her favorite things included dancing, walking and spending time with her family.  Especially her grandchildren.  She was a woman of big faith.  She is home with her Father in heaven.
