Obituary
Virginia M. Winterland, 88 of Fairbury passed away at 9:43am, Thursday, October 4, 2012 at Fairview Haven Retirement Community, Fairbury.
Funeral Services will be at 11 am, Monday, October 8, 2012 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury with Pastor Tom Krieger officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury. Visitation will be from 4-7:00 pm, Sunday, October 7, 2012 and one hour prior to services on Monday also at the memorial home in Fairbury.
The family suggests that memorials be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church, Fairbury or Fairview Haven Retirement Community, Fairbury.
Virginia was born on March 25, 1924 in Fairbury the daughter of Conrad and Ida (Metz) Munz. She married Francis L. Winterland on April 21, 1946 in Fairbury. He passed away on April 7, 1998. Also preceding her in death were her parents and three brothers.
Survivors include her two children, Robert (Linda) Winterland of Fairbury and Barbara (Duane) Bach of Belvidere, IL; three grandchildren, Beth Winterland of Schaumburg; Jennifer Bach of Evanston and Michael Bach of Buffalo Grove.
Virginia was a 1942 graduate of Fairbury Twp. High School and was employed at Fairbury Hospital for over 40 years. She was a member of the Fairbury VFW and American Legion Auxiliaries and Trinity Lutheran Church of Fairbury.
She enjoyed volunteering in her community and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends who will miss her deeply.
