Fairbury: Voda K. Kilgus, 94, of Fairview Haven Suites, Fairbury died at 4:10pm Thursday, May 18, 2006 at her residence in Fairbury.
Funeral services will be 2:00pm Sunday, May 21, 2006 at the 1st Presbyterian Church, Fairbury with the Rev. Frank Fisher Obl OSB officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury.
Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 pm Saturday at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury and 1:00 to 1:45pm Sunday at the church.
Mrs. Kilgus was born June 5, 1911 at Avoca Twp., Fairbury, Illinois. The daughter of Jacob William and Pearl Fetzer Ulfers. She married Albert Kilgus on December 26, 1942. He died July 22, 1989.
Surviving is her brother: Warren (Mary Ann) Ulfers, Fairbury, 1 niece Rebecca (Randall) Ulfers Litteneker, Piedmont, CA and 1 great nephew, Alan Litteneker, Piedmont, CA.
She is preceded in death by 1 nephew, John Warren Ulfers.
Mrs. Ulfers taught 1 year at the Brights Corner Country School, Avoca Twp. She also taught for 37 years at the Fairbury Junior High School, specializing in Language Arts and Home Economics. She retired from teaching in 1971.
She was a member of the 1st Presbyterian Church, Fairbury and was an avid bridge player.
The family suggest memorials be given to the 1st Presbyterian Church, Fairview Haven Nursing Home or the Dominy Memorial Library all in Fairbury.
