Obituary

Wanda June Hensley 67, of Chenoa passed away at 8:00 am, Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at OSF St. James-John Albrecht Medical Center, Pontiac.

Graveside services will be at 10:00 am, Saturday, September 24, 2011 in Chenoa Cemetery, Chenoa with Pastor Heidi Punt officiating.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 pm, Friday, September 23, 2011 at the Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa.

Wanda was born February 23, 1944 in Wayne County, IL the daughter of William E. and Edith (Smith) Dye. She married Harold E. Hensley on September 21, 1962 in Chenoa, IL. He survives in Chenoa.

Other survivors include one daughter, Stacie Hensley of Chenoa; three sisters, Edith (Joe) Rankin of Danville, IN; Sarah Gould and Judith A. Sykes both of Pontiac; and one brother, David (Anna Pearl) Dye of Mt. Erie, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Edward Dye and two sisters, Ruth Taylor and Dorothy Chapman.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be directed to the American Cancer Society or the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

Wanda attended and graduated from Chenoa High School in the class of 1962. She was employed as a secretary for Cargill Seed in Pontiac and later was a floral arranger for at Kim's Floral and County Market both in Pontiac. She was affiliated with the 1st Lutheran Church of Pontiac.

Mrs. Hensley loved to travel, bowling and work with flowers. For over 20 years she was part of a Canasta Card Club with special friends. Wanda was a great sister, wife and mother and was a good friend to all.
