Wanda Mae Kauffman, 84, of Chenoa, passed away at 6:55 am, Sunday, July 19, 2015 at Meadows Mennonite Retirement Community, Chenoa.
Her funeral mass will be held at 11am, Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Chenoa with Father Carl LoPresti officiating. Interment will follow in Chenoa Township Cemetery, Chenoa.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11am, Wednesday prior to her service also at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Chenoa. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be directed to Alzheimer's Association.
Wanda was born February 13, 1931 in Randolph, IL; the daughter of Alvah and Nellie (Weakly) Stivers. She married Thomas A. Kauffman June 17, 1950 in Chenoa. He survives in Chenoa.
Also surviving are two children, Richard (Maria) Kauffman of Winthrop, ME; Sheila (Joe) Johns of Saunemin, IL; one sister, Ruth (Marv) Bono of Mesa, AZ; four grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 sisters, Nadine Griffith, Betty Sauter, Bernadine Goode, Dorothy Abbott, 4 brothers, Donald, Ralph, Clarence and Gerald Stivers.
Wanda and Tom recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. They loved to dance and spend time with their grandchildren. Wanda also enjoyed gardening and crocheting in her spare time. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Chenoa.
