Wanda L. Woodward 78, of Forrest passed away at 6:06 am, Monday, August 8, 2011 at her residence in Forrest.
Funeral services will be 10:00 am, Thursday, August 11, 2011 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury with the Ministers of the Apostolic Christian Church of Forrest officiating. Visitation will be 4 to 8 pm, Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at the memorial home in Fairbury and one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
Wanda was born July 19, 1933 in Bollinger County, MO the daughter of Earl and Ruby (Durham) Hedrick. She married William "Bud" Woodward on March 16, 1953 in Jennings, MO. He survives in Forrest.
Other survivors include three children, Kristie Abromwitz, Las Vegas, NV; Karla (Sam) Zimmerman, Fairbury; Kyle Woodward, Bloomington; one brother, Doyle Hedrick, Pontiac; one sister, Erline (Scotty) Long, Fairbury; sister in-law, Marge Hedrick, Fairbury; eight grandchildren, Lucas and Sarah Abromwitz, Heidi (Richie) Gilliam, Lester Zimmerman, Joshua and Eric Haag, Kelsie and Kendra Woodward and six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Kim Woodward and one brother, Sam Hedrick.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the family of Wanda L. Woodward.
Wanda was a member of the Fairbury American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and was affiliated with the Apostolic Christian Church of Forrest. She loved cooking and baking and worked as a waitress at the Chenoa Family Restaurant for over 25 years. Wanda was an avid bowler and held the ladies high score of 278 at "Oh Suzanna" and later became "Westgate Supper Club" in Fairbury. She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.
