Wendy J. Sparks, 67, Fairbury, died at 1:52 pm Friday, March 7, 2025 at OSF Heart of Mary Medical Center, Urbana.

Wendy was born April 11, 1957 in Fairbury, IL the daughter of Glenn A. and Elva "Jean" Weakman Sparks Sr.

Survivors include her brother, Jay (Lisa) Sparks, Normal, IL, a sister, Becca (Larry) Maurer, Glendale, AZ and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

She is preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Portia Eckhoff and one brother, Glenn "Bud" Sparks Jr.

Wendy was a 1975 graduate of Fairbury-Cropsey High School and later graduated in 1979 from Illinois State University, Normal with her degree in Special Education.  Wendy went on to have a 35-year career teaching Special Education at Washington Community High School.

Wendy enjoyed visiting family in Arizona, playing Euchre with friends and socializing at the Fairbury VFW.

Cremation rites have been accorded by Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury.  A Celebration of her Life will be held at a later date.  The family suggests memorials be given to SELCAS or the Fairbury VFW.
