William C. "Bill" Munz

Fairbury - William “Bill” Conrad Munz, 67, of Fairbury, IL passed on Saturday, August 1, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones. He was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend to all. His presence will be deeply missed.

Bill was born in Joliet, IL on January 24, 1959. He grew up in Fairbury, IL. He lived in the same home his entire life, minus a few years when he lived in Champaign-Urbana, IL. His home was next to Indian Creek Golf and Country Club, where he grew up golfing. He enjoyed golfing, and had a hole-in-one when he was 13 years old. He enjoyed taking walks on the course, and enjoying the view.

He was an enthusiastic lover of music and a talented musician, who loved playing the drums. He enjoyed attending music concerts and could discuss bands, and music for hours. He was an active member at First Baptist Church of Fairbury, and was a dedicated part of the worship team, as a drummer in the band.

Bill was a people person and always enjoyed meeting and talking with friends and family. He was often seen at the local Fairbury grocery store, Dave’s, grabbing a quart of Uncle Bob’s ice cream, or at his favorite local coffee shop, Dream Cabin, where he would go every day for an Americano.

He is survived by his wife Susan Bradbury Munz, his son Chad (Valerie) Munz, grandsons Garrett and Connor, and sister Lisa Kilgus. He is preceded in death by his father Perry Munz and mother Toni Palermo Munz.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Sam Steffen, Sara, Billie, Julie, and the entire hospice team. They provided excellent care and attention.

We will gather together on Saturday, August 15, 2026 at First Baptist Church of Fairbury, 701 North 7th Street, Fairbury, Illinois 61739, to remember Bill, who will be greatly missed: Visitation from 1:00- 3:00 pm, Memorial Service following. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the First Baptist Church of Fairbury.
