Chenoa – William "Bill" Harms, 68 of Chenoa, passed away at 9:05 pm, Monday, August 3, 2015 at the Illinois Veteran's Home, LaSalle.

His funeral will be 11am, Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa with Pastor David Heath officiating. Burial will follow in Chenoa Twp. Cemetery, Chenoa; with full military rites conducted by Chenoa VFW and American Legion posts.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 pm, Monday, August 10, 2015 and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday also at the funeral home in Chenoa. Memorials may be directed to the family of William "Bill" Harms.

Bill was born March 15, 1947 in Streator; the son of Russell and Dorothy (May) Harms. He married Sheryl D. Eaton on October 19, 1968 in Chenoa. His wife preceded him in death on June 12, 1976. His parents, and one granddaughter, Sheryl D. Hilton also preceded him in death.

Survivors include two daughters; Tammy (Lee) Johnson of Fairbury; Rachell Harms of Lexington; three sisters, LaVonne (Richard) Roberts of Fairbury; Karen (Mac) Hutchison of Pontiac; Diane Harms of Pekin; two brothers, Larry (Dorothy) Harms and Ray (Dawn) Harms both of Chenoa; four grandchildren, Christina Bounds, Meridith Johnson, Ivan Johnson and Amber Hilton and many nieces and nephews.

Bill was a 1968 graduate of Chenoa High School and served our country in Vietnam as a Staff Sgt. in the U.S. Air Force. He had been employed at Caterpillar Inc. in Mossville and was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Chenoa; and lifetime member of Chenoa VFW and American Legion posts. Bill never knew a stranger, his quick wit and one of a kind laugh will be missed by all who knew and loved him
