Obituary

William H. Orth, 90, Fairbury died at 10:15 am Friday, September 17, 2010 at Meadows Mennonite Home, rural Chenoa.

A private memorial service will be held Saturday, September 25, 2010 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury with Rev. Spencer Homan officiating.

Mr. Orth was born April 17, 1920 in Fairbury, IL the son of Theodore and LaVeta Goslin Orth. He married Mary Workman on April 29, 1949 in Mackinaw, IL. She survives in Fairbury.

Also surviving is a daughter Ann (Jay) Nussbaum, Fairbury, IL, two grandchildren, one great granddaughter, and a brother, Edward Orth, Morton, IL.

Mr. Orth was a 1938 graduate of Fairbury Twp. High School and was a lifetime farmer. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Fairbury and had attended the First Presbyterian Church, Fairbury serving as an usher for many years. He was a Paul Harris Fellow and a member of the Fairbury Rotary club. He was a member of the Tarbolton Masonic Lodge #351, Fairbury and was involved with the shriners. He was a Flying Farmer, Indian Grove Township official, and volunteered at the Fairbury fairgrounds and drove for Meals on Wheels. Bill was a good Christian man.

The family suggests memorials be given to SELCAS; Meals on Wheels; Rotary Club of Fairbury; or the First Presbyterian Church.
