Obituary
William "Bill" Scott Jr., 77, of Fairbury, passed away at 8:25 am, Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at St. James-John Albrecht Medical Center, Pontiac.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am, Friday, May 24, 2013 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Pontiac with Pastor Tom Krieger officiating. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 pm, Thursday, May 23, 2013 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be directed to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 210 Deerfield Rd., Pontiac, IL 61764 or Community Cancer Center, Normal.
Bill was born April 22, 1936 in Chenoa, the son of William and Dorothy (Kritser) Scott Sr. He married Sonja Boles on August 23, 1959 in Fairbury. She survives in Fairbury.
Other survivors include one daughter, Sheila (Joe) Doran of Forrest; two grandchildren, Kenzie (Brandon) Burke and Colin Doran both of Forrest; one great grandson, Tracen Burke also of Forrest, two sisters Lois (Nelson) Zimmerman of York, PA; Lu (Jack Oderwald) Westermeyer of Pontiac; one brother, Tom (Jeane) Scott of Normal.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters.
Bill graduated in 1955 from Chenoa High School where he was active in numerous sports programs. You could always find Bill supporting Chenoa Redbirds and Prairie Central Hawks sporting events. He was an avid sports fan and loved the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears. His quick wit and sense of humor will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
